I BESEECH YOU!

I need help, my laptop is on its last hinge, literally! A few weeks ago my brother was borrowing it and it had a nasty fall, luckily it landed right on one of the hinges and it snapped clean from the rotators. I've been fixing laptops and computers for some years now and I can easily tell there ain't no fix from this. I'd need a new monitor completely due to the way the hinge was broken.

Not so bad though because I've had this laptop since 2004 and it was in need of being replaced anyway, seriously who still uses AMD turions. Here is my dilemma now. I want to get a mac book pro, but I've never had a mac before, I am vaguely familiar with the OS when I came across a couple here and there in my old computer repair technician job. Why a mac? first because its different and I want to get to know it, and it should come in handy when I do support for my mac clients. Secondly that damn uni body and almost indestructible hinges has me sold, not to mention the supposed battery life!

I've always been a PC fellow, heck I do all my work under windows... and the only mac that meet my standards, just barely I might add, is very expensive. With the money I'd shell out for that I could get a dell laptop with a quad core and double the memory (8GB) for way less. I do a lot of network work with my laptop so I remotely connect to PCs all the time with the windows built in remote desktop connection or software I've been paying for like RealVNC and LOGMEIN. I wonder if the mac can remotely connect to PCs on a windows network? I have a big network at home too that I provide support via the same method, my home alone has over 7 PCs and this doesn't count the PCs in my dad's office on the first floor which makes about 9 more.

So I beseech you, I need help from someone that has lived on both sides, is the mac worth it? its damn sexy i admit that, and the battery life, gah... what scares me the most tho is whether I'd have to be legitimately buying software from now on too lol. You can get anything cracked for windows...

any input would be appreciated. I have to decide in the next couple days because I am ordering a new laptop no matter what.

Transition

I am in a transition period... my life at the moment is trying to balance itself on a beach ball in the water. I have been secretly applying to scholarships and colleges to pursue my studies further. I say secretly because I've recently, early this year started this new job and they wanted someone on a long term basis... but to be fair I told them that I wanted to continue studying during my interview back in February.

So yes, I was getting tired of commuting daily to Belmopan everyday and decided I was gonna rent an apartment here... sure enough I find one.... and then with the luck I have I get an email saying, your being considered for this scholarship... so I'm like ok? If I get it, I would leave sometime January, so now it makes no sense to relocate and make commitments to an apartment I might not even have time to use.

I've been waiting for the past month for an official decision, but alas I might not hear anything till October. I already have the job I would have if I had a masters... I don't know if I should leave and go or stay, I don't even know if I'll get to go... things are confusing.


I download a shitload of tv shows and stuff and finally got around watching them for my lunch breaks and weekend... I started this show Heroes, and I have to say its a bit interesting...

The annoying supervisor is on two weeks vacation, therefore I am on a two weeks vacation...

My right nostril is itching and makes me sneeze every so often I might be catching a cold...

Elba's birthday is coming up and I am thinking about buying her a PS3 for her bday, she just broke up with her boyfriend of 4 years and is missing Little Big Planet dearly... yes she is my bff.

UB is back in session so lately its been a pain in the ass to get a seat on the 6:30 a.m. Express...

Some days I just want to shave my head bald and be done with it, its so long now all I can do is tie it back like a pirate....

There are physical changes that have begun to arise that have prompted me to take action, I hate what I've become...

Pancho went back to Tampa this past Friday and does not have a working console, no zombie slaying for him in a while...

My birthday recently passed and I don't like to tell people my birthday but its fun to see who out of the few that do know remembers... as per tradition my dad cooked around 4 large pizzas and we ravaged that sommabich!

My brother's girlfriend is back from working at Disney for her internship, we've begun our weekend anime binging routines we use to do. She is way behind in Bleach but surprisingly up to date in Naruto, she had been converted a long time ago...

Family went to chetumal this weekend over night to celebrate my birthday, I didn't go...

My dad's blood type is O- and routinely donates blood, I still don't know my own blood type...

My new xbox has finally arrived... along with my pal Pancho. So yes safe to assume, I was jammin' all weekend. My iPhone arrived too but... it's not what I expected. It'll take some time to get use to, but I think I prefer my Sony Ericsson over it.

What's new?... did I tell anyone that there was a new addition to my family about six months back? Yeah... his name is Mojo. If you haven't already figured it out by now, he's a dog. A male golden brown Chihuahua to be exact. He's a feisty lil one too. Very playful but doesn't know his own strength, he keeps wanting to make a big scene with Duke and Knight, dogs that can just step over him.

Although I just started this new job here in pan, I've been looking into opportunities for a scholarship to hopefully resume my studies and get a Masters Degree. I've been a bachelor's graduate since December of last year but my official ceremony was last month. I chose not to attend. Sick and tired of getting dressed up like a monkey for a piece of paper. I went to pick up my diploma last week, almost a good month after the graduation... I'm so spaced out. They still gave my my purple tinsel to symbolize my summa cum laude which I didn't expect, since I thought you had to march up to receive it. Freeze's sister Anna saved one of the schedules they gave out at the ceremony with the list of graduates and stuff. Why am I collecting these things? For my mom, unlike me she was sad that I didn't walk up. She's so far collected all the tinsels I've been given in life for my honors level since high school, all the schedules, all the invitations, you name it she's saved it.

So I've promised to march up for my Master's ... if I get the opportunity that is.


I hate this guy I work with.... he is such a fucking asshole and Mr think i know everything. He's not even my boss and he keeps watching over my shoulders in everything I do and ask how's my progress going bla bla, mind your own fucking business. And he keeps asking for a network admin meeting every week to talk about what we've done over the week. He obviously wishes he was the director so he tried to play that roll on us... since I'm new I play along for now. And he is such a hypocrite. He something hardly ever does any fucking work but when me or one of the other guys try to take a lil break he's like oh so you guys have free time maybe you could do this do that... suck my nuts!

Anyhow he's asking me to help him setup exchange through a proxy I have to go...GAH!
