Xmass?

This year the Fabro family clan decided not to exchange xmass presents anymore. Thank god for that! Fabros have been growing exponentially... baby making season I suppose. Now each family will only be buying for their immediate family. I guess I can invest on better presents for my siblings and parents now. Anyhow Xmas is all bout the food and family gatherings. Its the one family reunion I always attend. Not for the really great turkey dinner and gravy but because its always held at my parents house. haha.

Xmas shopping has been a bit complicated this year. Heather is coming back down to Belize in February. I've asked her to move in with me... big step I know. We'll see how it goes, but for now it seems fine... I sent her a kindle for xmas and she already opened it! But luckily she loved it so that means I will be rewarded with smooches come February mwahaha!

I'm thinking of getting a DSi and game for my wee brother, Mikhail I'm thinking of getting an xbox live gold subscription and my parents... well they are always up in the air. Most likely dad will get some fancy power tool and mom jewelry. Crap I almost forgot Erika... why does my brother have to have a girlfriend that's practically like my sister?.. damn her!

Slashed tires!

Woke up Monday morning to find that all 4 tires of my pickup were slashed. Awesome right? Seems the night before when I loaned it to my brother he had the bright idea of parking it in front of a no parking zone of a business. Seems to me the owner got pissed and asked him to move it and my brother was a bit rude and one thing led to another... I think the guy got mad and slashed the tires. Anyhow... I need 4 new tires...I guess this is why we have savings.

I BESEECH YOU!

I need help, my laptop is on its last hinge, literally! A few weeks ago my brother was borrowing it and it had a nasty fall, luckily it landed right on one of the hinges and it snapped clean from the rotators. I've been fixing laptops and computers for some years now and I can easily tell there ain't no fix from this. I'd need a new monitor completely due to the way the hinge was broken.

Not so bad though because I've had this laptop since 2004 and it was in need of being replaced anyway, seriously who still uses AMD turions. Here is my dilemma now. I want to get a mac book pro, but I've never had a mac before, I am vaguely familiar with the OS when I came across a couple here and there in my old computer repair technician job. Why a mac? first because its different and I want to get to know it, and it should come in handy when I do support for my mac clients. Secondly that damn uni body and almost indestructible hinges has me sold, not to mention the supposed battery life!

I've always been a PC fellow, heck I do all my work under windows... and the only mac that meet my standards, just barely I might add, is very expensive. With the money I'd shell out for that I could get a dell laptop with a quad core and double the memory (8GB) for way less. I do a lot of network work with my laptop so I remotely connect to PCs all the time with the windows built in remote desktop connection or software I've been paying for like RealVNC and LOGMEIN. I wonder if the mac can remotely connect to PCs on a windows network? I have a big network at home too that I provide support via the same method, my home alone has over 7 PCs and this doesn't count the PCs in my dad's office on the first floor which makes about 9 more.

So I beseech you, I need help from someone that has lived on both sides, is the mac worth it? its damn sexy i admit that, and the battery life, gah... what scares me the most tho is whether I'd have to be legitimately buying software from now on too lol. You can get anything cracked for windows...

any input would be appreciated. I have to decide in the next couple days because I am ordering a new laptop no matter what.

Transition

I am in a transition period... my life at the moment is trying to balance itself on a beach ball in the water. I have been secretly applying to scholarships and colleges to pursue my studies further. I say secretly because I've recently, early this year started this new job and they wanted someone on a long term basis... but to be fair I told them that I wanted to continue studying during my interview back in February.

So yes, I was getting tired of commuting daily to Belmopan everyday and decided I was gonna rent an apartment here... sure enough I find one.... and then with the luck I have I get an email saying, your being considered for this scholarship... so I'm like ok? If I get it, I would leave sometime January, so now it makes no sense to relocate and make commitments to an apartment I might not even have time to use.

I've been waiting for the past month for an official decision, but alas I might not hear anything till October. I already have the job I would have if I had a masters... I don't know if I should leave and go or stay, I don't even know if I'll get to go... things are confusing.


I download a shitload of tv shows and stuff and finally got around watching them for my lunch breaks and weekend... I started this show Heroes, and I have to say its a bit interesting...

The annoying supervisor is on two weeks vacation, therefore I am on a two weeks vacation...

My right nostril is itching and makes me sneeze every so often I might be catching a cold...

Elba's birthday is coming up and I am thinking about buying her a PS3 for her bday, she just broke up with her boyfriend of 4 years and is missing Little Big Planet dearly... yes she is my bff.

UB is back in session so lately its been a pain in the ass to get a seat on the 6:30 a.m. Express...

Some days I just want to shave my head bald and be done with it, its so long now all I can do is tie it back like a pirate....

There are physical changes that have begun to arise that have prompted me to take action, I hate what I've become...

Pancho went back to Tampa this past Friday and does not have a working console, no zombie slaying for him in a while...

My new xbox has finally arrived... along with my pal Pancho. So yes safe to assume, I was jammin' all weekend. My iPhone arrived too but... it's not what I expected. It'll take some time to get use to, but I think I prefer my Sony Ericsson over it.

What's new?... did I tell anyone that there was a new addition to my family about six months back? Yeah... his name is Mojo. If you haven't already figured it out by now, he's a dog. A male golden brown Chihuahua to be exact. He's a feisty lil one too. Very playful but doesn't know his own strength, he keeps wanting to make a big scene with Duke and Knight, dogs that can just step over him.

Although I just started this new job here in pan, I've been looking into opportunities for a scholarship to hopefully resume my studies and get a Masters Degree. I've been a bachelor's graduate since December of last year but my official ceremony was last month. I chose not to attend. Sick and tired of getting dressed up like a monkey for a piece of paper. I went to pick up my diploma last week, almost a good month after the graduation... I'm so spaced out. They still gave my my purple tinsel to symbolize my summa cum laude which I didn't expect, since I thought you had to march up to receive it. Freeze's sister Anna saved one of the schedules they gave out at the ceremony with the list of graduates and stuff. Why am I collecting these things? For my mom, unlike me she was sad that I didn't walk up. She's so far collected all the tinsels I've been given in life for my honors level since high school, all the schedules, all the invitations, you name it she's saved it.

So I've promised to march up for my Master's ... if I get the opportunity that is.


I hate this guy I work with.... he is such a fucking asshole and Mr think i know everything. He's not even my boss and he keeps watching over my shoulders in everything I do and ask how's my progress going bla bla, mind your own fucking business. And he keeps asking for a network admin meeting every week to talk about what we've done over the week. He obviously wishes he was the director so he tried to play that roll on us... since I'm new I play along for now. And he is such a hypocrite. He something hardly ever does any fucking work but when me or one of the other guys try to take a lil break he's like oh so you guys have free time maybe you could do this do that... suck my nuts!

Anyhow he's asking me to help him setup exchange through a proxy I have to go...GAH!

Fix Xbox

Dunno if I had mentioned earlier, but my Xbox 360 had died. It was dead for over a month almost. I was forced, FORCED I SAY, to play wii again. Crap I don't know what I saw in that system. Oh well I think I've been spoiled with next gen graphics. So anyhow I was playing Resident Evil 5 one day when all of a sudden a whole pile of black pixels appeared on the screen. I rebooted the xbox and it seemed to go away but then it came up again so I decided to rest it.

Week later I was playing left 4 dead online with Pancho when it did the sama MADARASS but then this time when I tried to reboot, I got the dreaded red rings! Eventually an error message would appear on the screen and when I googled the error code it seemed to be related to overheating. CRAP! I have warranty but what good is that shit when you live in Belize.

I didn't have the time or the patience to deal with that shit. I was close to buying a new system when I just decided what the hey, lets open this mofo. A quick clean of the heat sinks and reapplication of silver arctic thermal paste did the trick. Boo and Microsoft for their shabby designs! Crap these systems are failing like computers! Why can't they make a Nintendo sturdy console. You never heard of the Super NES crashing! did ya!?

Wisdom be gone!

I took my wisdom tooth out last Thursday right before the big Easter weekend. I was hoping that would be more than enough time for me to recover, HA! No doubt around Sunday midday when all the lovely pain medication started to wear off, KAZAM! Oh glorious pain. The messed up thing was it was Easter Sunday and no where was open, and no freaking doctors!

I end up luckily finding a chiney man open and I bought some, well a lot of Advil.. and being an ex med student I know what I was doing was dangerous but I said fuck it all! Gulped down around 4 pills per every 6 hours which is double the prescribed.


Anyhow, Tuesday morning bright and early I went to the dentist and she prescribed stronger stuff, and here I am today not feeling any pain, but I still have the hole where the tooth use to be so I have to be wary as to not let food get it... I find myself fucking the hole with my tongue subconsciously.... ha ha.

My tongue got stupid with the lost of it's wisdom.

New job = New lifestyle

I was recently offered a job with the government to work with the Ministry of Finance as one of 3 NSA they have to administer the entire Government WAN network. At first I was a bit wary to take the job because I didn't have much experience with VPNs, CISCO routers and such. Also the fact that the job was way in Belmopan... and I had gotten use to my Belize job.

So I weighed the options, and just when I was dead sure I was gonna turn the job down. I talked myself outta it. I was like....I'll be learning new things... I wanna get a Masters in Networking anyway....then I left. I've been working here close to a month now and I've got to say I've been learning new shit daily. I wont get into the details cuz apparantly I can go to jail for it... LMAO!

NO lie... policy strict here. Anyhow, I've been waking up 4 in the faking morning! Since I took this job to get ready, iron clothes, bathe etc... drive to terminal and catch bus. SO now I have to spend money on commuting and food, gah! Thankfully the job paid more than the last, but with a price, I lost a lot of the freedom I had before and gained a whole pile of new responsibilities. Derek tells me after I settle down everything will be cheesy and gravy. For now I am not so sure I am happy with the decision.

OH I haven't been paid yet!!!!! Leave it to GOB to mooch up pan pay! Something about me being new so it'll take a while for me to get in the system, funds the run LOW son! Bus no free!

Locked

I've had my blogged locked off to only invited guests due to the fact that I've had somewhat of a stalker going through my blog and leaving random inappropriate comments and emailing me. It just got so annoying and I think it solves the issue at hand.


Now if only I knew everyone's email so I could add 'em....

I am out of shape

I started not two days ago exercising... and I realized how badly out of shape I was. 25 Sit up and pull ups and I feel like a train ran over me. No exaggeration intended. There was a time when I use to go to the gym every single day and was fit, but alas.. I got lazy.

I am embarrassed at how easily fatigued my muscles get now. I bet you would be surprised at yourself too if you took the time to do a lil exercise yourself. Do push ups or sit ups till you reach a breaking point. I'm not saying do ten or twenty, I'm saying to do it till you can't go any further. You'll see how much you ache the next day. Then you do it all over, while still aching. Eventually the pain will subside and your limit will rise, and as the day goes by you will be able to do more and more before you start aching again.

Exercising is fun, when you have the time. The results of it aren't to shabby either! I have been neglecting the healthy life... ironically after I quit smoking.

Let's see how long I last this way.

On a side note, I am finished with schooling. I am working full time to pay for my gaming expenses of course! I applied for the GRE examination this February, I have hopes of pursuing a Masters degree in something fun.
