Etcha Sketch

Avatar Aang

I should really be doing presentations and research papers but... well I took a pause for inspiration and I manage to do a quick lil sketch.

Character: Aang
Time: 1hr maybe
Aggravations: no colors

P.S. : I've been trying to design a signature to place on all my drawings but I can't decide on one. I want to either incorporate my initials (D.F.) into something or maybe do some fancy squiggly lines or maybe even a small logo I don't know. Suggestions would be nice. Or maybe I'll just post a few of my ideas and I can get some feedback... oh shit I have to go start this research paper.

***UPDATE***
I was walking to my father's office here in Belmopan like I normally do after class to kill some time and do my job; but on the way over at the pedestrian ramp there was this crazy driver that almost ran me over. These blasted Belmopanese people, bloody ingrates. It came very close to taking out my knees ... I got a good look at the car and driver too. It was a green "Camry looking" type of car with a sunroof that looks like it's never been opened before. The dude driving was wearing shades although the vehicle was tinted and was on the cellphone no less... wait till I tell Mr. Freeze about this, he gets real riled up at stories of bad drivers.

Busy, busy, busy..... BUSY!

Oiy the last days are always daunting. I have a lot of projects due, but I know I'll get through them even with this enormous amount of, "pauses for inspiration" -freeze, procrastination. Right now I'm avoiding that research paper but doing this presentation for yes, you named it.. Communication Skills. The topic is how local music can be used as a communicative tool. Pretty much have everything done but if you have additional ideas on how you think local music is used as a means of a communicative tool I would be more than happy to read...

I remember once PUP using that song from "las ketchup" I don't recall the name but it was very popular at the time and they went and revamped it, to something more "Belizean" and used it in their campaign and before you know it they had an additional 4 years to steal. I guess music was used as a means of advertising and influence, I could be wrong.

so, any ideas?

Reliving the GLORY days

Have you ever noticed how inanimate objects are forever tied to a memory? I do, almost always. I am a collector and destroyer of memories. I've been rummaging through my room and I came across a cupboard, I have that holds things I never use. Note blanks from primary school, books I've read, games I've beaten or that are obsolete, pictures...they all reel back in a memory as clear as day.

Sometimes memories are as sharp as daggers that pierce into the thoughts of today. Some bring back bad, bad feelings... but I keep them because it makes me feel alive; and sometimes they are just worth remembering.

Memories Sharp as daggers

The eye patch - I remember thinking I was dead, when I saw that cane truck coming at me head on. God I hate drunks... and it happening in O-Walk just made it all the more pleasant.
The watch - primary school graduation present from my uncle.
Cop shades - she looked so goofy in them. She forgot it and I haven't been able to give it back yet.
The lighter - my sweet smelling cancer sticks. I gave this to her since we were both chimneys. However on that faithful day she had to give it back, they didn't allow them on airplanes anymore. I remember the airport, and the goodbyes
The earrings - my very first pair. 1.5cm in diameter.. 0.25cm thick. The hole is still embedded in my ear from it being so thick.
Game boy SP game - The legend of Zelda: Minish cap. Funnest game boy game I've played... it was a present from her. I remember her being ticked off at me because I was beating the game at a very fast pace and it took her longer, haha.
The pendant - I was very much in turmoil and anguish at the exact moment in my life when I came across this thing glowing on the floor. It reminds me of what I've been through.
Rings - I had a ring for every finger back in my adolescence. I'll admit I was very eccentric then. I remember how different and darker I was. Believe it or not I am peppy now.
The tag that says SID - I remember the raccoon looking ferret i bought for Eli. He was ecstatic, I never got a chance to get the tag itself to him. Things went sour.

Off course this was just a tiny example, I have many habits. I collect all tickets I get either from watching movies at the theater, football matches for Juventus (team my family owns), stubs etc. I keep em in a tiny pocket in my wallet. The movie tickets are in abundance, and from all over. Its funny too, which objects bring back that specific memory. I guess its the mind that choses it, "hey buddy, from now on your gonna remind me of ..". haha, I think I remember too much, way too much, too much on my mind, too much in my life but I can't get enough of it. FEED ME!

The most fun about these things are when you rediscover them, all the thoughts and feeling rushing back into you like a cold chill down your spine that triggers a involuntary flinch in your body. We are bounded to our past, no matter what and its with these lil' tokens that we make remembering the worthy all the more easier.

My beautiful collection, I will never part with them. Oh how it grows...

I NEED SPACE!!!

Gah! I'm running out of Hard Disk space... way too much things on it. Yes, yes... I knew all those countless hours of downloading were gonna bite me in the arse! I find myself 12GB away from filling up two 880GB Hard Drives I have set up in my server at home. Hard drives I got at a good deal from dilapidated computers retired from the "Republic".

How, you might ask, have I accomplished this?... Easy, shit loads of Anime, Televison series, Movies, Programs, Softwares, ISOs, pictures, music, videos.... you name it I have it.

I think though that the majority share holder ("the culprit") of taking up all my space has got to be the anime and tv series.

Here's a list of some of the Anime series and Tv series I have :

those are only some, and that doesn't even count the movies I have. Yep..., anyhow I'm really tempted to buy a 1TB external HD to continue my collection. The bills are piling up on me though, I just ordered online 2GB of memory for my laptop, some more iPod touch accessories and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for my Nintendo DS and a couple more RPGs for my Wii.

I might need a third job... ha.

Biometrics

I decided on a topic for my research paper, kinda like a thesis for bachelors sorta thing? Anyhow its on Biometrics.

Biometrics is the study of physical identification, such as fingerprints, iris scanning, palm vein identification, voice verification, etc.

We were suppose to pick something that IT could influence and in Belize. I think Freeze is doing something with GPS tracking for business' vehicles; a very good idea to implement in Belize for corporations too I might add. Need to know where this Rasta man driving your car.

So yes Biometrics is a very broad topic so my hypothesis is narrowed down to, me thinking it would be feasible for Belize to implement a AFIS or CODIS system. AFIS deals with fingerprints (automated fingerprint identification system) and CODIS with DNA (Combined DNA identification system). I think that Belize's justice system would greatly improve with such a system in placed. Yes I know, its pretty expensive but if we could just launch with a AFIS system, we don't need to go high tech into DNA just yet.

From what I understand, although to be convicted of a crime you must have "undeniable proof", here in Belize people are convicted purely on eye witness and hearsay and I just think that is a load of crap! I mean what the $%#, seriously. We cant even read fingerprints... if we had something like this that bitch from Mirab wouldn't have gotten away with murder because he's rich, as someone once told me ... " a lil' proof goes a long way".

Anyhow, I could be going about this all the wrong way and end up with a resounding F, ha. Hopefully I can work something up.

All I know about biometrics for the time being is the lil fingerprint scanner I have for my desktop to login haha. I bought it ages ago to block my brother out, I have passwords for everything on my system, login... websites.... internet access... you name it and that lil' sucker makes my life easier because instead of having to type up passwords every so often I just have to swipe mah fingah!

Imagine how safer Belize would be if something so simple was in place.

Song or Suicide

Sorrow rebuild me as I step out of the light
Misery strengthen me as I say my goodbyes

I heal my wounds with grief
And dream of you
And weep myself alive

Pending jobs

Not to mention that next week I have Tests for Communication skills, Digital logic & Signal processing, Advanced Web Technologies and an upcoming networking test... GAH! Someone PLEASE SHOOOOT ME!

Anyways I'm too busy not doing any of these assignments. Let me go and do what DOm does best. Procrastinate.....

You would think with the lack of sleep I'd have all the time in the world to do these, haha.

P.S. Derek may think my lack of sleep might be due to the fact that I could possibly be bi-polar. Huzzah.

I'm a RAT!

We chatted from 1 a.m to around 6 a.m. when it was just about time for me to take a bath and go to Belmopan. I'm glad someone was there to keep me company, and I'm glad it was her because we haven't spoken in ages. It was fun to catch up on stuff. So yes in the hours of chatting because we both seem to can't find sleep, we end up talking about astrological signs etc.

Now I'm not one for those sorta crap and to be honest I thought it was just a load of crap. But damn man after she introduced me to the chinese astrological readings GAH! It was so unbelievably on the money. They are by far better than the western ones (leo, virgo etc)

So yes I'm a RAT, and darn proud of it!
**************************************************
RAT
1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996

Rat people are born under the sign of charm and aggressiveness. They are expressive and can be talkative sometimes. They like to go to parties and spend quiet times chatting with their friends. Although the Rat can be quiet sometimes, it is rare to catch a Rat sitting quietly.

Rat people usually have more acquaintances than real friends and they revere and cherish those close to them. Once you become their real friends, they will treat you as their family. Rats are self-contained and keep problems to themselves. And even though they can be talkative sometimes, they never confide in anyone.

Sometimes mean, narrow-minded and suburban in outlook, Rat people are nevertheless honest. They can always make a success of their lives as long as they manage to master their perpetual discontent and their insistence on living for the present moment.

The Rat is quick-witted. Most rats get more accomplished in 24 hours than the rest of us do in as many days. They are confident and usually have good instinct. Stubborn as they are, they prefer to live by their own rules rather others. It won't be an easy task to work with Rat people, why? Simple, because they are also 100% perfectionists.

They are very organized and talented, perhaps that is why the Rat makes a good businessman or politician. Unfortunately, as soon as the Rat earns money, he spends it. Maybe that explains why the Rat is so careful when he lends money to others. If you ever borrow money from the Rat, don't be surprised by the high-interests.

The Rat is not romantic, but he is sensual and loving. Rat people could be hard to see through at first glance, because they are also very protective, but even though they are not easy but they are worth it - ask anyone who has a Rat for a lover, parent, child or friend. They are very loyal and devoting to their families.

Loyalty is their trademark. People know they are a genuine friend that are always ready to lend a hand. Even if they can’t help someone with their specific problem, rats still manage to send out a warm and reassuring vibration that makes them feel better.

The Chinese astrological cycle begins with the year of the Rat; consequently those born within this category like to be first, pioneers, at the forefront of the action. Because of this, they tend to see themselves as a cut above the others. Restless and inquisitive, those born under the influence of the Rat are active, both physically and mentally, and tend to lead busy lives. Challenge is essential to them for they love the thrill of living dangerously. With clairvoyance, intuition, perspicacity and an eye for detail, Rats are formidable problem solvers, finding workable solutions to the knottiest problems. Travelling is one of their favorite pastimes.

The Rat possesses attributes ranging from charming and humorous to honest and meticulous. The Chinese say those born in these years make good and wise advisors, yet they can never decide for themselves and change direction constantly. However, Rats at times hunger for power and money, leading some to be gamblers and others to be manipulative or petty. Their greed can lead them into a destructive trap.

Rats are best known for their charm. Blessed with a sharp wit, they possess a marvelous sense of humor, which makes them stimulating and amusing company to have around. Generally extroverted, they may well be described as opportunists for they prefer to live off their wits rather than labor long and hard to earn their daily bread.

Rats should have a happy childhood and a carefree youth. However, the second part of their lives may be stormy and problematical. They may be prone to lose money in a bad business deal or their happiness in an unfortunate love affair. The third part of their lives will be comfortable, and their old age as peaceful as could be wished.

It is important to note whether the Rat was born in the summer or the winter of the year. In summer the lofts and granaries are full, but in winter the Rat will be obliged to go out and forage for food, and must watch out for the traps set along the way. In human terms, this could mean the risk of prison or an accidental death.

The Passionate Rat

Rats are able to control their feelings and will generally present a cool facade to the outside world, regardless of whatever volcanic emotions they may be feeling inside. But these are passionate creatures whose feelings can be deeply stirred and though able to control them as a rule, when the volcano does erupt, watch out! Perhaps one of their faults is their inability to actually talk about their feelings to those they love, and consequently they tend to repress them -- thus adding to the volcanic pressure. As well as being deeply passionate they are sensual creatures who simply exude sexuality and who greatly enjoy all forms of physical stimulation.

Rats' romantic life is very quiet, provided that they take care not to interact with the Horse or Rooster. In particular, it is catastrophic for a male Rat to marry a female Fire Horse. They should be wary of those born in the Year of the Rabbit. Rats have excellent relations with the Dragon, Monkey, Ox and Tiger.

Halloween!

This Halloween was hilarious! I had chucky in my front veranda! Chuky! hahaha....

Jeez, I can't recall ever laughing so hard before... I myself didn't dress up for Halloween or go to any costume party like my brother and his girlfriend. Although lately the whole family has been referring to me as an apostle or calling me Jesus, because of the hair and beard... so I guess I could have just thrown some old curtains over my shoulders and I would have been a dead ringer.

I've been invited to Galen's costume party which is tonight.... I don't want to go. I hate going out. ...

ps. ignore the date on the pic, I never have time to fix it on the camera. Go figure.
