Christmas Draws Near

I never know what to get people on Christmas, well it has only been recently since I've start working that I've been giving, but I had always found myself able to save enough even from before to buy something for my parents.

My Mom is always jewellery and my dad is always something that he desperately needs, like a watch or something. Now I'm buying stuff for my brothers too, but I ain't going farther than there... cousins, aunts, uncles, friends... tough luck! Especially now when "tings haaad".

Last year I had bought a whole heap load of shit for myself too. This time I just got like 5 Xbox 360 games and some gaming accessories.... you can't go without having a wireless headset to chat while your shooting down some bastard Nazis. For everyone else I got real lazy this year. I just bought everyone a 16GB flash drive and something else according to personality. My dad got his flash and a wallet, the one he has is so decrepit and old. My mom really loves sun flowers so I got her a necklace with a sunflower pendant. My middle brother likes football games and football like monkey likes throwing shit. So I got him his flash and fifa 09 for the xbox 360. My youngest brother is obsessed with role playing games, so I got him a flash drive and Animal crossing Wii.

My Rendition of killing Nazis on Call of duty 5 Xbox360

Every one's flash drive was different too, by color, brand and design. Now that we got presents out of the way... the best part about xmass..... FOOD! I wonder what it will be this year. Well of course besides the turkey and ham. Mmmm I can't wait.

You know what I really hate?.... when people you didn't plan for give you presents. I overheard my brother's girlfriend getting me one. WTF man! You're my brothers girlfriend!!! Only get him something, gah! Now I have to go get her something so I don't feel guilty about it.. then again I'll be soo busy shooting zombies for xmass that I might just forget. Yeah you guessed it! I got Left 4 Dead and they'll be a whole bunch of zombie slaying going on xmass day.

I hope all you guys have a merry xmass, hopefully there will be iPods.

PS: I shall be updating frequently again...would you believe I wasn't updating because I broke my typing hand while masturbating?...yeah sounds like a good enough excuse.

It burns!

I think I might need glasses soon. I've been playing my xbox 360 non stop on my HDTV through HDMI ports and the graphics are insane, but at the same time it hurts my eyes after extended play. I guess there not that use to the high resolution and horizontal and vertical frame rates. Go figure. Suffice to say that the first week of owning it I would come to work with bloodshot eyes, from bleaching till 5 am playing call of duty or assassin's creed. What's really addictive is the online play, being able to connect online and play a total stranger or friend on a game you really like. fifa is pretty cool online but those bloody bastards keep disconnecting right before they lose. COWARDS!

Anyhow, I've been using eye drops a lot lately. Yesterday I said screw it and returned to the old 720p resolution and it doesn't hurt my eyes one bit, but .... its not smooth and sexy like 1080i/p [cries].

So people if you see me online on messenger and my personal message has x box 360 followed by the name of a game its because I'm online playing games, so don't feel bad if I don't respond to you... typing with a game controller is just too hectic to bother. Sometimes I'll respond in really bad broken up creole to save time with typing on a remote control. Maybe I'll get a wireless keyboard who knows.

Till then... Game Over.

Plagued

I've not been blogging as much as I use to, but I don't feel too guilty because by the looks of things... neither have you guys been. To simply put it, I've been busy with my life. A lot has changed for me and my family in just this short time. For one my dad is now a retired man! So no more flashy government rides etc.

The biggest change so far has been the start of his new company. A couple months before he was retiring he had planned on starting his own company, and by god it's happening. This past month we have been building his new offices, I think they spent like 40k in just 3 weeks building that place and its not half done yet.

I've become a pedestrian! I've graciously loan my pickup to my father since he use to always drive his government issued Hilux with free diesel, there was no need for him to actually own a car.. till now. He would have used my brother's Volkswagen, but the pickup is more... uh... manly... and it has space to haul lumber and cement the kinda thing he needs while he's building his office. Yeah leave it to my dad to get involved in construction. He always likes to not just supervise but do stuff himself too. I could always remember the summers helping him make our own repairs on the house, he is pretty good at it too, no doubt he got an A in woodwork back in primary school.

I've been doing a website for his business as well, and also designing the logo that will represent it. Thanks to Pancho bringing me back a wacom it might not be so difficult as before.

so why plagued? I've been plagued with stress, worrying and work. I just like last week bought an xbox 360 elite at amazon and it should reach this Sunday. Now after reading so many comment and reviews I've noticed it has a very high rate of crapping out on me. So I'm worried and I hope that almost a month's pay don't go down the toilet. I'm stress with the extra work from my work and doing work for my dad. I can't wait till his new car gets shipped so I can get mine back!

Let's just hope this xbox reaches intact, no scratches no bruises, working fine and with no friggin red rings of death!

It should be one busy weekend too:

Games I ordered along with it:
Fifa '08
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Forza 2
Call of Duty 4
Mass Effect
Assassin's Creed
Grand Theft Auto 4

You're welcome to come over so I can whoop ur ass on any of these games, heck if you want I'll whip out the nintendo wii and whip you on that too!

Till next time...

Regrets

I really think now after seeing the effects it has had on me... that I shouldn't have stopped smoking and started to sleep normal. Those have got to be the two worse things that I've done to myself.

But sleeping every night, when you should be and early... feel so darn good.

I regret a couple other things...

Clone Wars

It's no secret to any of my friends that I'm a very big Star Wars fan, been that way since I was wee high and able to mumble "Darth Vader". I blame my uncle for the addiction, he got me into it back in the 80's.

So here's the deal. George Lucas the creator of the Star Wars franchise is kicking of the new era of Star Wars, yep there's another movie coming out this year! Before you go any further, I should only be fair to warn you that its going to be completely CGI. The movie will take place between episode II: Attack of the clones and episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

It will delve more into the battles that progressed between the two movies, how Anakin Skywalker went from padawan learner to Jedi Knight. If you noticed, in the movie before he had short hair from being a padawan learner and in the next he had long hair because being a knight now allowed him to and he had a distinctive scar over his eye, which he got from all the battle's he has been. He became so well known in the republic that he was given the nickname "the hero who does not know fear". Clone Wars will fill in this gap, so most naturally you'll see familiar faces like:

Obi-wan Kenobi

Anakin Skywalker

Clone Troopers

Of course it'll have new elements to the drama, for instance Lucas has decided to give the last person you would expect to give, a padawan apprentice. That's right Anakin Skywalker will have his own padawan whom hell be training amidst the clone wars, and shes a girl no less!

Anakin and his Padawan

The movie premiers August 15th 2008, it will kick of a TV animated series of the same style to be aired on Cartoon Network. It should run enough seasons to last 3 to 5 years. There will also be a live action TV series, but that's not scheduled until 2010 and it'll have no Jedi's in it, time period will be after revenge of the Sith but before a new hope. It involve the lives of others in the galaxy that are affected by the new empire. Lucas has confirmed that there might be cameos of main characters like Darth Vader, Obi-wan Kenobi and the emperor for whom all the original casted actors express interest in performing should they get the opportunity.

May the force be with you....

Can you learn?

I always wonder sometimes,  can people learn to do things that seem only capable in the hands of a savant. Can you learn to paint a mona lisa, can you learn to draw. Sometimes when I look at other people's artwork compared to my own I get blown into reality and realize I am but a young grasshopper. Makes me wonder if I'd ever reach those levels of expertise.

Sometimes I find myself unable to decide what I'll do or become in life, sure I have a good education to fall on etc. but WHAT DO I WANT TO DO!?

I'm pretty sure I'll be a bank teller with a masters degree, just because I find the job simplistic and its enough to get by. Maybe that's my problem, no ambition or motivation. In reality all I really want in life is a cozy apartment, not a house, the necessities (i.e. video games) and food.

We'll see how it goes though because if there is one thing I'm sure of, its that whatever we do with our lives, it'll lead us somewhere we were meant to go, and I'm gonna enjoy the ride there.

Blood thirsty as usual

for what you might ask? ha!

Anyhow, I've been entangled with my life these past few months, busy here, busy there, busy everywhere. Apart from holding down two jobs, one for my internship and one to feed my thirst for electronics and video games, I've been drawing a lot of new concept art, I plan to build a website soon to showcase my talents, but meh who am I kidding... I'll probably end up using it to just upload anime for my fellow addicts.

What did you do for easter? I planned on nothing, I intended to just mass home and continue coding for this program I'm currently doing for a library database. I ended up going to Chetumal though, couldn't resist the chance to go to Sam's Club and take a dump in their bathroom facilities and text one of my buddies to tell them I was doing that ahaha, I like to push their buttons. He told me about it this morning at work "bwai fabro u dah wha ass! LOL".

I ended up buying a couple video games and some wii accesories too. I also went to pick up my pre-ordered Smash Bros. Brawl. I spent the remainder of my holiday jamming games, mostly "no more heroes",... suda51 make some awesome games. Any game that involves a lightsaber and assassinations is A-OK in my book.

I recently bought a 42 inch screen HDtv to play video games and watch my anime on, since it can basically work like a computer monitor, and we've been using it to watch anime almost every night. We being Gian and myself, but every now and again Mikhail watches and the last time he did he got so addicted he blew of his date with his girlfriend and stayed to watch the remainder of death note.  We'd spend like 3 full days watching nonstop just to complete one Anime series. Full Metal Alchemist took 5.

Anyhow I've set up a match with my old high school friend Carlo, one on one on Brawl. We've competed in every single incarnation of the game from N64, the cube and now the wii. It's funny though because I haven't seen carlo since we graduated high school back in '02. Hopefully I get to face him face to face and not online.

Anyhow this is it for me, and for your viewing pleasure I leave behind this drawing. I ordered some new software called Manga Studio Extreme and a wacom, that way I wont need to depend on my uncle. I intend to scanlate all my drawing and then color em... oh joy.

Her features are based on my girlfriend heather...

Bad Hair Day

So, yeah... I came home today and noticed that Knight was blowing out his coat. Its a term we Siberian Husky owners know all too well. Siberian Huskies don't shed hair all year around like normal dogs, instead once a year they shed their coats and it happens all at once and lasts for about a week or two.

When I came home I could hardly notice the dog under all the fur, he looked liked a pin cushion, no lie... it was so funny. Almost like a sheep....

Anyway, I spent the whole afternoon trying to sort him out so he could feel a wee bit better. Must be a pain in the ass to have hair all about even in your mouth, I could tell he liked the shearing and the bath. Well I couldn't get all of it off since its an ongoing process at the moment.

Duke was jealous, had to kick him to shoo him off about twice... no worries he's a big Rotweiler a kick is a love tap for him, hehe.

Here are a couple of videos and a pic, the whole processing of taking off the fur felt like picking cotton, and its sooo soft....

Update

As I sit here taking a dump... I am reflecting on the past couple of days. This week was my first week of my internship semester. Guess what I do? Yep computer stuff. I've had plenty of fun, between tending to customers, programming and doing field work it has been a blast so far. I notice a lot of my fellow classmates too are working here in the city. The city is my home, so it's second nature to me, it can be pretty funny to hear how they think its all soo confusing and easy to get lost, haha.

I can remember the weekend before our internship began I had to show Freeze how to get to work from where he would be staying, Freeze uses western dairies as a focal point on how to get to places in the city from. "so if I wanted to go there,.. how would I get there from WD?" haha. I just know in one month he will be a city bwai and know the streets and stuff like the back of his hand. If he can only pick cheaper spots to dine now! We went to have dinner one night together at a place where you had to pay 7 bucks for a bugger and 6 more for just fries... madness I say!

On my way to work every morning I pass the street Freeze is parked on, so I get to see the green bean of sunroof nostalgia... I've been quite tempted too to get out and leave a note on his car saying "if you park on my spot again, I'll stab your tires!" lmao... a sort of welcoming =D. Heck tomorrow I might just do that!

Anyway, just a lil update, time to wipe my ass now.

Rachelle says:

I was rummaging through my memorial archives and remembered something from last night that made me laugh my arse off. We were having conversation amidst the loud reggae songs playing, which we argued over whether or not it was live or not. So we spent most of the convo leaning into each others ears to just to hear.

Rachelle says:
So why don't you sleep dom?
Domanick says:
drugs...
Rachelle says:
*stares*
Domanick says:
haha, I'm serious. I took some meds to stay up to study and....
Rachelle says:
and what?
Domanick says:
I quit med school, and it never wore off.
Rachelle says:
I think you should sue!
Domanick says:
HAHAHAHAHAHA

A night out

Instead of routinely watching X-file episodes till dawn broke, I went out and well,... clubbed for the first time. Rachelle was driving, and smoking some Phillies, yum. We spent most of our time gawking at people instinctively grinding over each others crutches and calling it dancing, it was hilarious, there was this wan weee girl that looked 12 my god that woman can grind. If I had known dry humping was what people meant when they said lets go out tonight, I might have considered it a bit longer before saying no.

Had my first beer too, shit was disgusting. Whomever says they drink for the taste is talking crap! Crap I say! It was wonderful morning I have to admit, it was the most fun I'd had at 3 am in the morning. I have to admit though upon first venturing in and seeing all the people crowded and half drunk and pushing themselves onto each other and stuff, I really felt outside my comfort zone. Luckily I was with someone whose company I enjoy.

I took a snap shot with my camera phone while we were drinking and talking and pointing and laughing but, well she's a shy one.

The result?... a blurred middle finger

Did I mention I had fun?

I've been busy...

Fun while it lasted...

My Christmas vacation I would have to say was... something else. I haven't been updating mah blog much on account I've been busy with countless things. Holding three jobs, yes you heard me right...THREE!!..! Two full time and one part time. Why? This was my first Christmas as a giver and not a receiver. I ended up spending on the people that mean something to me.

Logically it came at an expense, but I must say seeing the astonished faces on them when they realized I got them something was all worth it. I bought my mom jewelery, what else can you buy a mom? a cook book? HA! My dad I got him a nice Fossil Tri fold wallet. Mikhail (the lost brother) I got him a PC game, and Giancarlo, the youngest, I got him a DS game with strategy guide. As you can see above, the most expensive person to shop for was myself, haha. Paying the online bills and duty came out pretty pricey too, almost double what I had to pay for the actual items...crap!

I splurged a lot of my money on video games, my one true love! Sadly I've beaten them all with the exception of the Zelda one. I was crushed when after 5 days of playing, on my lunch breaks and non-sleep filled nights, I came 2 dungeons away from beating it. So I decided to abstain, and I wont play it anymore until the new school semester starts, that way I have something to procrastinate on. I do however reap the benefits of its online play, and pillage away with that. The resident evils games, were so fun, and awesome! I beat 4 in one day and the chronicles in a morning. I wasn't the only one that got video games, my brother got Avatar the last air bender burning earth and ultimate alliance, both I've beaten before him, on the Christmas weekend. They should really make games that last more than just a couple of days, I guess thats why I love the Zelda series so much.

Enough of that, I could go on and on about video games. I must say over the holidays lots and I mean lots of shit have changed. I think one of the biggest is that me and my brother are no longer as hostile as we were to each other anymore. I loan him my truck almost every other day for him to go visit his girlfriend, with the promise of him paying his own fuel, we've socialized on occasion, and we've began to play video games together again. To tell you the truth, I think he's been turning over a new leaf, and I think on account he is blood related I can go ahead and give him a fourth chance. I was amazed at the 3.75 GPA he brought home, I think an all time high in his career, still shy of beating my GPA for this semester tho, but for the first time in my life he gave me a run for my money.

So yes, what have I done for Christmas? mmm, mainly working and making money and playing games. Couldn't have put it any simpler. I managed to even work on Christmas day itself, that way I could be excused from all the family reunions and such, something I hate attending. I did however get nice pics from all the occasions... those being the Family Christmas opening of presents and new years bash. Christmas I spent fixing a server and New years I spent bar tending.. long story. I spent boxing day with Rachelle, we ended up driving through the city which was dead, trying to go into any shop that was open and just talking rass and touching stuff without buying, haha. I ended up going with her to a lingerie shop too, embarrassing I might add.

I also remember spending a weekend in Christmas watching 15 gigs worth of dragon ball episodes. Try doing that with one good eye, the headache you get after is insane. mmm, Mikhail's birthday is tomorrow today, and his girlfriend got him fifa 08 and splinter cell on Wii, we've been playing it since yesterday... yeah he is a early opener. The fifa 08... I've never had a fancy for sports games but I can play them, this one is a lot more funner than the others I've played though with all the motion gimmicks you have to employ to play the game, for instance you actually have to motion to through the ball to do a throw in etc. I'm seeing whether or not I can beat splinter cell before the weekend is up. I have a shit load of anime to burn onto DVDs for Rachelle too...we've been exchanging.

Family news:
  • My grandfather that has been visiting for spain for like 6 months now, has returned. We now finally have the house to ourselves... so yes girls can sneak over again without having to worry about dogging gramps, ha.
  • My brother is on the Dean's List
  • me and Mikhail are bonding, to the point where we are sneaking into princess with old tickets to watch I am Legend twice.
  • Dad has to work in orange walk for elections, hahahaha!
  • I was being forced by my father to register to vote, but I refuted.
  • My dad got Mikhail a Volkswagen, pretty nice one too, I'm a bit jealous then I remember it runs on gas.

This week I've been resting, I've resigned from two of my jobs to prepare for the upcoming internship semester. I've been using my free time to read and rest. Also I think Mr. Sandman has found me again, I've been getting sleep on occasion now, but during the day instead of the night, I'll have to sort that out, small steps.. small steps.

Er, as you can read life is a lil bit more better in my end of the world, I hope it is in yours too.

I leave with some pics of my family enjoying themselves for Xmass.

The wee ones opening up presents
